About

Collecting the iconic.

AMADEUS is an archive of designer fashion from the 1990s to the 2010s, the decades when Roberto Cavalli, Jean Paul Gaultier, John Galliano and Alaïa turned clothes into statements.

Behind AMADEUS are two collectors. Before selling a single piece, we were buying them for ourselves, out of pure obsession. For two years now, we have been searching the world for the garments that defined those decades, often straight from iconic collections and runway shows.

What we look for

We are drawn to pieces with a strong point of view. Cavalli's untamed prints and embroidered gowns. Gaultier's corsets, mesh and provocations. Galliano's theatre, at Dior and under his own name. Alaïa's sculpted lines. Dolce & Gabbana at their most glamorous. Issey Miyake's experiments with form and fabric.

We choose each piece for its design, its construction, its materials and its place in a designer's story, and for the desire it still creates today. The pieces everyone wants, the ones you see on screens and stages, the ones that come back season after season.

How we work

Every garment is examined and authenticated before it joins the archive. We measure each piece by hand, read its composition from the original label, and photograph every sign of time. When we know the story of a piece, the collection it comes from, the runway it walked, the person who wore it, we tell it. What you see is exactly what you receive.

The archive

Every piece in the archive can be bought or rented. Stylists, photographers and productions can rent any of our pieces for editorials, shoots and events. Contact us to access the full rental archive.

Because these clothes were made to be lived in, not kept behind glass.
